Retains more upper-frequency content as the tone control is rolled back.

More Than
Just a Cap.
In the world of guitar electronics, the debate over the impact of capacitors on sound has been ongoing. At Spektratone, we believe a great capacitor contributes to more than frequency response alone. Attack, harmonic character and the way an instrument responds under your fingers are all part of the experience.
For us, the smallest components deserve the same attention as the instrument around them—because feel, response and musical character live in the details.

Shape the roll-off.
In a typical passive guitar tone circuit, increasing capacitance moves the roll-off lower as the tone control is reduced. These three values give you three useful starting points—from more open to progressively warmer.
A balanced step between the more open .022 µF and warmer .047 µF response.
Rolls away more upper-frequency content as the tone control is reduced.
Pickup type, potentiometer value and wiring all influence the final response. Use these as tonal starting points rather than fixed rules.
